A Terre Haute man has been arrested for allegedly trying to set a house on fire.

Police say that 42 year old William Osborn went to the Terre Haute house of a former girlfriend and threatened to set fire to the house if she did not come out.

Witnesses told police that Osborn began pouring gasoline on the home while several adults and children were inside.

Osborn faces several charges and is being held on $100,000 bond.

He is also accused of beating his former girlfriend.

Authorities say that Osborn confessed to the allegations during questioning.

He has another court date set for April 10^th.
