There will most likely be a hike in bus fares in Terre Haute next year.

 It costs nearly $3 million dollars to run the city transit utility. 

There has not been a hike in prices since 2010. 

The increase would likely be about 25 cents or 16 percent. 

The current fair is $1.50. 

The State Department of Government Finance earlier said that they transit authority needed to cut about 30% from its budget.

 

The price increase will not cover that cut.
