Here in Indiana Duke Energy is seeking solar power proposals for projects that could generate up to five megawatts of electricity from solar power.
Duke reached a settlement with consumer groups last August ending a challenge to the utility's state air permit for its $3.5 billion, coal-gasification plant that went online last summer.
One option under that settlement was building or contracting for 15 megawatts of wind and solar energy.
Duke has already agreed to purchase 10 megawatts of power from Purdue University's planned Tippecanoe County wind farm.
