The Vigo County Sheriffs Department says that an early Saturday morning accident has left one teen dead.

Just after 1AM deputies were called to the area of 42nd Av and Wire St in northeastern Vigo County (north of Shrine Hill) on a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.  

Officers report that a black Humvee was found upside down in a field with several subjects around it.

19 year old Alyssa Hogue of Terre Haute was ejected and pinned under the roll bar of the truck.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were a total of seven people in the vehicle.

No one else was seriously hurt.

The driver was identified as Kyle Pendergast.

A blood test was performed at Regional Hospital and he tested positive for marijuana and had a blood alcohol level of .108%.

He was arrested and taken to the Vigo County Jail on a preliminary charge of driving while intoxicated resulting in death.
