Two accused bank robbers have made their first court appearances.

43 year old Kenneth Shelton, and 20 year old Ryan Ellinger both appeared in Sullivan Circuit Court where public defenders were appointed and trial dates were set.

The two are accused of robbing the First Financial Bank in Farmersburg last week.

Shelton’s trial is set for Nov. 19, and his bail is set at $65,000 with no 10 percent allowed.

Ellinger who apparently drove the get-away car will go to trial Dec. 2, and is being held on $15,000 bond with no 10 percent allowed.

Police say that about $17,000 was stolen in the robbery and that $14,000 was found in Shelton’s apartment, and in his pick-up truck.

They also say that Shelton allegedly paid Ellinger $400 in $5 bills for driving the getaway car.
